Maldon and Tiptree, defeated by Brightlingsea Regent in midweek, travelled to play their fourth away match in a row, Bowers and Pitsea’s Len Salmon their destination. The match was goalless for an hour, and when the first goal finally arrived it went to the Jammers, Anisius Lewis with his eighth goal in only twelve matches. Seven minutes from time the hosts hit back, Renei Batlokwa sending the keeper the wrong way from the spot, and that seemed to be that- but it wasn’t! In added time there was Lewis once more to make it two-one Maldon, and to ensure that they remained a point off the pace- with a game in hand.
