Jammers and Yachtsmen keep up the pressure at the top
Maldon and Wroxham find last-gasp winners, with Takeley and Tilbury our other victors. Regent triumph in the Velocity Cup
Title favourites Maldon & Tiptree played host to a resurgent Concord Rangers, the Beachboys looking for a fifth League win in succession. The visitors had a fine start, Bobby Kelman putting them ahead after only eight minutes, but an own goal levelled matters for the hosts ten minutes before half time. The Jammers went ahead four minutes into the second half, Tevan Allen putting them ahead, but Rangers were level once more fourteen minutes from time, Harrison Day scoring the equaliser. That looked to be that, but deep in added time the Jammers were awarded a spot kick, and Freddie Sears put it away for three-two and three points. Maldon are second, only goal difference keeping them from the summit.
Wroxham and Waltham Abbey have both had fine starts to the Pitching In Isthmian North campaign, so we expected their head to head on the Broads to be a close one. The Yachtsmen delighted the home faithful by taking the lead on eighteen minutes, Travis Dodsworth with the goal- and then delighted them still further only three minutes later, Asa Mcgeachy adding a second. The Abbotts halved the deficit twelve minutes into the second half, Nathan Koranteng with that one, but almost immediately Wroxham went up the other end and got a third, Liam Jackson with that one. If a two goal lead looked enough, it wasn’t, as an open goal gave the visitors hope and then Matt Price made it three-three with sixteen minutes left. Four minutes into added time, a winner- and it went to the hosts, Shaun Taylor making it four-three Wroxham-and seeing his side into third.
Witham Town were looking to get back to winning ways as they welcomed a Bowers & Pitsea side who were looking for a fourth win in a row. The match was goalless when the visitors went down to ten men with twelve minutes left, Kai Redgrave dismissed- could Witham take advantage? There was soon a goal, but it went to the ten men, Jonathan Evans with it- however the hosts levelled in added time, Ernest Okoh earning them a point.
Tilbury welcomed Gorleston to Chadfields. The Dockers went ahead on thirty two minutes, Jamie Reynolds the scorer, and as it turned out the scoring stopped there. Tilbury climb to sixteenth, the Greens are outside the top five only on goal difference.
Takeley were the hosts for Stanway Rovers. After a goalless first half Joseph Pullen put the hosts ahead from the spot, but they were under the cosh when Jordan Wescott saw red with fourteen minutes remaining. Could Rovers find a way back? The answer was a resounding no- and Takeley climb out of the bottom four.
Velocity Cup

Regent added a second twenty minutes from time, Harry McDonald with it, and then delivered a last gasp third to make victory even more comfortable. Ayo Adelaja got the third.
