Kouassi is a Gull once more

Evans Kouassi is back at Canvey Island

Canvey Island have announced a return to the club for Evans Kouassi.

Evans signed for Dartford on deadline day, moving from Hashtag United. He played six times, and scored once.

Evans, who can play through the middle or on the wing,  scored fifteen goals for the Tags last season, in thirty five appearances- including two in his last match for the club, victory at Canvey on March 21st.

Evans moved to the Tags in the summer of 2025 from Folkestone Invicta. He joined the Stripes in the summer of 2024, and he made thirty four appearances, scoring nine goals- and also found the time to play seven times on loan for Bowers and Pitsea, scoring once.

Evans was previously an enormous success with Canvey. He missed most of the 23-24 season through injury, but became something of a legend in four years at the Gulls. He scored five goals in the nineteen matches he managed during 23-24, but that followed an impressive twenty four as the Gulls reached the Premier Play Off Semi Final in 22-23, and thirty one in forty seven matches as they won North Division promotion via the Play Offs in 21-22. His first season at Canvey was the very short 20-21 campaign, where he had three goals before the world closed down once more.

Prior to the Gulls Evans managed ten goals for Heybridge Swifts during the unfinished 19-20 season, his second spell with the club- after returning in March 2019 after a short but productive period with Mildenhall Town. He was a big part of Swifts success in the 2018-19 playoffs, success which sadly turned out to be futile given the FA's decision to not promote all playoff winners. He previously played for Wealdstone, Bishop's Stortford, Hayes and Yeading, Chelmsford City and at Concord Rangers.
