Mason makes a Swifts bow
Bobby Mason is new at Heybridge Swifts
Heybridge Swifts had a new number one as they fell to defeat against Waltham Abbey on Saturday, Bobby Mason moving in prior to the transfer window closing.
Bobby has been with Grays Athletic, VCD Athletic and Cambridge City this season.
He will perhaps be best known to you from his time at Canvey Island. He made fifty two appearances for the Gulls last season and one this, returning to the club in the summer of 2024 after a season at Sittingbourne- a season which saw him make forty four appearances as the Brickies reached the Play Off Semi-Finals in the South East Division.
He was an enormous part of the Gulls success in reaching the Pitching In Isthmian Play Off Final Semi-Final during the 22-23 season, and, of course, was between the sticks as they won the Pitching In Isthmian North Play Offs during the 21-22 campaign, saving penalties in the Final against Brentwood Town. He also helped the club to the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup during the pandemic-hit 2020-21 campaign, notably saving five penalties in a match against Biggleswade.
Bobby previously played for Great Wakering Rovers, Aveley, Hullbridge Sports, Thurrock and Witham Town.
