McKenzie, Mampolo and Olorunnisomo form a new Leafe trio
Dami Olorunnisomo, Francis Mampolo and Montel McKenzie strengthen Premier new boys AFC Whyteleafe
AFC Whyteleafe have continued their squad building as they look forward to their first Premier campaign, and the latest arrivals at Flamingo Park are Dami Olorunnisomo, Francis Mampolo and Montel McKenzie.
You'll remember Francis, a winger, from his time at Dover Athletic. He made thirty seven appearances, scoring once, as Athletic won Pitching In Isthmian Premier promotion- via the Play Offs- in 24-25, although has more recently been turning out for Dover's National League South rivals Tonbridge Angels.
He ended the 23-24 season at Premier Division promotion chasers Chatham Town, playing four times and scoring twice whilst on loan from an earlier spell with Angels. Francis also spent time on a dual registration deal with Folkestone Invicta, playing twice, and also had a dual-reg spell with Margate, playing twice in mid January. Mainly, however, he appeared in the Blue of Angels, and made twenty four appearances. He started the 23-24 season at Maldon and Tiptree in Pitching In Isthmian North, playing five times. He has also turned out for Westfield and Biggleswade Town.
Montel spent last season helping Folkestone Invicta take our title. He made thirty six appearances for the Stripes, scoring twice from his place in the backline.
Montel, who perhaps may be more widely known away from our League from his time on Love Island than for his time on the pitch, previously spent time in the USA studying and playing ‘soccer’ for Ocean City Nor’easters, before playing for Woodford Town in the Essex Senior League during 22-23, when he made twenty eight appearances according to FA stats. He was then spotted by Hemel Hempstead Town, signed for the Tudors in February 2023, and played a full part in their National League South campaign during the 23-24 season.
He signed for Billericay Town during the summer of 2024, and made thirty four appearances as his side lifted the Velocity Cup and finished second in Pitching In Isthmian Premier, before heading to the Kentish seaside last summer.
Dami returns to Leafe, having played for the current club as they won the SCEFL title in 24-25 and for the old Leafe prior to their demise. He was with Sheppey United last season, the full back playing thirty eight times and scoring three goals.
You will also remember him from his time at Sevenoaks Town, and he has also played for Chiselhurst Glebe, and spent time in the United States with Iowa Lakes.
