Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- April 2026

Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- April 2026

We celebrate the best defences of April- and those who stand behind them

Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!

Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify.

Premier Division

We’ve just been to Aveley with the Performance of the Month prize, and we’re back there again with our Golden Gloves award. The Millers defeated Chatham Town, St Albans City and Wingate & Finchley without conceding a single goal, and also kept a clean sheet against Carshalton Athletic. They conceded but one goal all month, that against Hashtag United, but it didn’t do the Tags much good- Aveley still won!

Charlie Turner kept two of those clean sheets, Jonathan North the other two- and Jonathan was also in goal for that victory over Hashtag. We’ll leave the club to decide what to do with the gloves, but congratulations to both keepers!

North Division

Five matches, four wins and a draw, four clean sheets- yet again we’re off to Felixstowe and Walton United. The Seasiders ended the regular season with wins and clean sheets against Lowestoft Town, Mildenhall Town, Newmarket Town and Concord Rangers- and all that means that they are our Golden Gloves winners once more.

Harry Wright is the Seasiders main man, and three of those clean sheets were his. Congrats go to Harry, for a fabulous month and a fantastic campaign.

South Central Division

Harrow Borough had a positive end to the campaign; indeed they delivered an unbeaten April. Clean sheets came against Hendon and Kingstonian, and they conceded only one goal against Southall, Hartley Wintney and Bognor Regis Town to claim our final Golden Gloves of the South Central campaign.

Many congratulations go to Borough keeper Tom Clark- but you don’t just get our congratulations, Tom, you get some fabulous new gloves too!

South East Division

What an end to the campaign it was for Jersey Bulls. If success is built on a rock-solid defence then it’s no wonder that Bulls climbed to third place after a magnificent April which saw them concede not a single goal.

VCD Athletic, East Grinstead Town, Beckenham Town, Deal Town and Hastings United were all defeated- so as well as the clean sheets Bulls were pretty good at the other end, too. Many congratulations go to keeper Euan Van Der Vliet, and to his superb defence.

Thanks to Mitre for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.

Mitre, of course, have been delivering sporting innovation since 1817 -which makes them the oldest sporting equipment suppliers in the world. They’ve been working in partnership with the Isthmian League since 2017, when they began supplying both our balls and our benchware, and we are more than delighted that they’ve also added their support to these awards.
