Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- December 2025

We celebrate our best defences of December- and those who stand behind them
Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!
Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify.
Premier Division
We’re off to East Sussex, a first prize of the campaign for the Rooks of Lewes. December saw the Rooks concede one solitary goal in three matches, and celebrate clean sheets in victories over Dartford and Welling United. By the way, that one solitary goal- scored by Joseph Adewunmi of Dulwich Hamlet- didn’t make a lot of difference to the outcome, as the Rooks scored four at the other end.
Louis Rogers was the man between the sticks, and our congrats go to him, and to his mean defence.
North Division
Walthamstow have had a rather mixed campaign, but December saw them find some form, and tighten up at the back. Wins over Mildenhall Town, Heybridge Swifts and Takeley were celebrated by the E17 faithful, and now they have a Golden Gloves Award to celebrate too, courtesy of our friends at Mitre.
Stow number one David Hughes played in every December match, and will now have some top notch gloves to help him remember them.
South Central Division
We’re off to Rectory Meadow- for the second month in a row! The promotion chasing Villains couldn’t quite match their performances of November, which brought four clean sheets, but they lost only once in December, against Westfield, and conceded only two goals. Wins over Hartley Wintney and Kingstonian were the highlights, particularly the second of those, which finished four-nil.
Villains keeper Tyla Dickinson is once again the keeper we’re celebrating- and he’ll be receiving yet another fabulous pair of gloves.
South East Division
It’s always nice to take a trip to Moatside, and even better when you are bearing gifts!
Only Sittingbourne managed to get the best of Merstham during December- and even then, only just. That defeat followed three victories, over Broadbridge Heath, Hassocks and Margate, the last two of those on the road, and both to nil.
Merstham keeper Rob Tolfrey is hardly new to these awards (indeed we suspect he has almost as many gloves as Mitre!) but he’s taking the plaudits once more, and will have another pair of fabulous gloves heading in his direction. Many congrats to Rob- and to his mean defence.
Thanks to Mitre for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.
Mitre, of course, have been delivering sporting innovation since 1817 -which makes them the oldest sporting equipment suppliers in the world. They’ve been working in partnership with the Isthmian League since 2017, when they began supplying both our balls and our benchware, and we are more than delighted that they’ve also added their support to these awards.
