Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- November 2025

Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- November 2025

We celebrate our best defences of November- and those who stand behind them

Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!

Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify.

Premier Division

It’s time to head to the Kentish seaside- and Folkestone Invicta. The Stripes are, as we write, six points clear at the top of the League, and they had a magnificent November at both ends of the pitch- but at this point we are celebrating their mean defence and the form of keeper Ted Collins.

The month saw the Stripes play seven matches in the League, and win them all, three at home and four on the road. It saw them keep four clean sheets- against Welling United, Potters Bar Town, Wingate & Finchley and Chichester City. And, if a great defence is the foundation for a fabulous attack, it saw them score twenty four goals, so let’s give the backline some credit for that, too!

Making fine saves and ensuring those clean sheets, Ted is a greatly deserved recipient of this award. Some fabulous gloves will be heading his way soon.

North Division

Maldon and Tiptree are our North Division title favourites, and with quality throughout the side it is quite easy to see why. On this occasion we’re going to focus specifically on their defence- a defence that kept two clean sheets and conceded only two goals across November.

Behind that defence stands the magnificent Elliot Justham, and, along with our plaudits, Elliot is about to have a fabulous new pair of gloves, which he can use to keep even more clean sheets. Congrats go to Elliot, and to those who stand just in front of him.

South Central Division

We’re off to Rectory Meadow, the beautifully refurbished home of promotion-chasing Hanworth Villa, to heap plaudits on the Villains defence - and particularly keeper Tyla Dickinson.

November was rather packed for the Villains, who were in action seven times. None of those matches ended in defeat- four wins and three draws- and they came with four clean sheets, the net protected by Tyla and his superb defence. Met Police, AFC Portchester, Southall and Moneyfields all failed to score against the Villains.

Many congratulations to Tyla, and his superbly-marshalled backline.

South East Division

We have a rather unusual result for Pitching In Isthmian South East- we have two winners. There’s no truth in the rumour that they get one glove each!

Six matches for leaders Three Bridges came with three clean sheets, against Eastbourne Town, Croydon Athletic and East Grinstead Town, with keeper Sam Roberts standing proudly behind the defence. Over in the Channel Islands, Jersey Bulls keeper Euan Van Der Vliet also faced six different opponents, with two clean sheets. Both clubs conceded an average of one goal per game over those six matches, which gives both of them the plaudits.

Many congratulations to Sam, to Euan, and to their fabulous defences. Some fantastic gloves, courtesy of Mitre, will be heading your way shortly.
