Motormen grab the final Play Off place- whilst the Jammers take the title on goal difference
Redbridge delighted, Mildenhall disappointed, and Maldon celebrating despite defeat. It’s our Pitching In Isthmian North round up
Maldon and Tiptree went two-nil up at Walthamstow with twenty minutes to go and yet somehow lost three-two, but they won’t mind too much, as their superior goal difference meant that they clinched the title nonetheless. You have to feel immensely sorry for Felixstowe and Walton United, who defeated Mildenhall Town three-nil and ensured their visitors relegation at the same time- the Seasiders joined the Jammers on ninety seven points but will need to host Redbridge in the Play Offs on Tuesday evening nonetheless. The Motormen were in a four way battle for fifth place, and clinched it by winning a seven goal thriller against Concord Rangers, as Bowers and Pitsea, who occupied fifth spot at kick off, lost two-one at Newmarket Town. Gorleston tied on points with the Motormen after defeating Grays Athletic three-one, but end the season in sixth, whilst Wroxham lost two-nil at Takeley, a result which ensured Takeley survived.
Third place Waltham Abbey warmed up for their Semi-Final against Stanway Rovers with a two-two draw at Downham Town, whilst Rovers travelled to relegated Heybridge Swifts and delivered a five-nil walloping.
Cambridge City won six-one at Brantham Athletic, Lowestoft Town defeated Brightlingsea Regent four-one, whilst Tilbury and Witham Town ended the campaign with a one-one draw.
