O'Mara, McIntyre and Chambers are new at Hartsdown Park

Finn O'Mara, Jake McIntyre and Lewis Chambers move to Margate

Margate have named a number of new arrivals over the past few days, and we're confirming them in batches so the articles don't become essays. Next up is Finn O'Mara, Jake McIntyre and Lewis Chambers.

Midfielder Finn started his career at Gillingham, where he went from the youth ranks aged thirteen to the first team squad. He had two loan spells at Folkestone Invicta before signing permanently for the Stripes in October 2018.

He then signed for Hastings United in November of 2021, initially on loan from Folkestone Invicta, before making the move permanent in January 2022. He was a big part of their promotion winning side, playing twenty six times, and made eleven appearances as they returned to our top flight .

He then moved on to play briefly for Cray Valley PM before returning to our top flight to help Herne Bay in their fight against relegation, ultimately unsuccessfully. Since then he has played for Erith and Belvedere, Faversham Town and Whitstable Town, had another spell at Hastings, and then moved back to Whitstable, winning the FA Vase and the SCEFL title.

Jake McIntyre also comes in from Whitstable Town, and the defender is also a title winner and FA Vase winner. Jake ended the 23-24 season at Sheppey United, who he joined on a dual registration deal from Faversham Town, where he'd made nineteen appearances.

Jake is a left back, and was with Ramsgate during the 22-23 season, playing thirty eight times- following forty during 21-22 and six during the finished almost as soon as it began 20-21 campaign. Before he was a Ram he was with the Ashford United, making thirty seven appearances- with two rather rare goals-  during the unfinished 19-20 season. That followed ten appearances during 2018-19, after he moved to Homelands from another side who play in green, VCD Athletic. He moved to Vickers after the sad demise of Thamesmead Town, and was previously at East Grinstead Town.

Lewis Chambers started last season at Chatham Town, and made twenty one appearances, as well as sixteen during 24-25. He also had a spell at Welling United last season, playing three times, and then- of course- moved on to Whitstable, winning the title.

Lewis signed for the Chats from Bowers and Pitseas, back in January 2025. He was a big part of the Bowers side which won promotion during the 23-24 season, making forty one appearances and scoring five goals- and he made another nineteen appearances during 22-23.

Prior to his time with Bowers, Lewis played for Sittingbourne, making thirteen appearances at the start of the 22-23 campaign. He was previously with Faversham Town, making thirty five appearances for the Lilywhites during 21-22, to add to the twenty nine he made in the previous two seasons. He was also with Sittingbourne during the 2019-20 campaign.
