Opening weekend attendances see massive increase

The figures are in- and our opening weekend attendances increased by almost half
Our statistician, Neil Pilcher, has been looking at attendances for our opening weekend of the 25-26 Pitching In Isthmian League campaign- and after crunching the numbers has confirmed a forty four percent rise on the same period last season.
The opening weekend of the 24-25 campaign saw a total of twelve thousand, seven hundred and fifty one spectators through the gates. This season, that number was a rather colossal eighteen thousand, four hundred and eight.
Our Premier Division saw opening weekend attendances rise from 5, 975 last season to 8,552 this time out. For the North Division the increase was from 2,219 to 3,217, the South Central Division went up from 1,958 to 2,674 and the South East Division from 2,599 to 3,965.
The top opening weekend crowds in each Division were as follows:
Premier Division: 2,067, Dulwich Hamlet vs Dartford
North Division: 612, Maldon & Tiptree vs Redbridge
South Central Division: 675, AFC Portchester vs Bognor Regis Town
South East Division: 852, Hastings United vs Erith Town
The top ten crowds of the opening weekend across all four Divisions looked like this:
2,067 Dulwich Hamlet vs Dartford
1,123 Billericay Town vs Wingate & Finchley
1,119 St Albans City vs Chatham Town
1,019 Ramsgate vs Whitehawk
852 Hastings United vs Erith Town
820 Lewes vs Hashtag United
733 Aveley vs Brentwood Town
675 AFC Portchester vs Bognor Regis Town
612 Maldon & Tiptree vs Redbridge
607 Deal Town vs Sittingbourne
It's rather early to make any season predictions based on these stats, but it is a really positive start. Thank you to all of you who went out and supported your local clubs!
