Ossai, Splatt and Schafer are the latest for Gate

Tariq Ossai, Javaun Splatt and Bradley Schafer arrive at Margate

Margate have continued building for next season with the arrivals of Tariq Ossai, Javaun Splatt

Tariq Ossai comes in from Faversham Town, where he made twenty eight appearances last season. That followed forty five as he helped the Lilywhites to promotion during 24-25.

Tariq started his career at Crystal Palace, where he captained the Under 16 and Under 18 sides. Following his release from Selhurst Park he ended up at Thamesmead Town, but sadly found himself without a club when they folded, but made a name for himself at Chippenham Town before a move to Ashford United midway through the 2019-20 campaign. He remained with the Nuts and Bolts until the closing stages of the 23-24 campaign.

Javaun Splatt follows many of his former teammates from Whitstable Town, where he won a League and Cup double last year and scored thirty two goals.

Javaun was with Hythe Town prior to becoming an Oysterboy, and also played for Clitheroe during the 24-25 campaign. He was previously at Whitehawk, Sittingbourne and Sheppey United.

Javaun finished the 22-23 season with Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Leatherhead, making sixteen appearances. He moved to Fetcham Grove from Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Billericay Town. He joined the Blues from Worthing just before Christmas 2022, but had only been with the Mackerel Men for a short time after moving from Whitehawk.

He was perhaps the one highlight of the Hawks 2021-22 campaign, scoring nineteen goals in forty three appearances- and added another two in six last season before heading to Worthing. He moved to the Hawks from Tonbridge Angels, joining the National League South side after departing Derby County, where he was an Under 18 and Under 23 squad member.

Isthmian watchers might also remember him from his loan spells at Carshalton Athletic and Chipstead, as well as- and this is unlikely- from his time as a very young prospect at Dulwich Hamlet. Whilst with the Rams, as well as playing for their U18s and U23s, he also had loan spells at Barnsley U23s and Mickleover Sports.

Bradley Schafer also arrives from Whitstable, after twenty eight goals last season and an FA Vase win the season before, joining the Oysterboys midway through a 24-25 campaign he'd begun at Faversham Town. He was previously at Hythe Town.

Bradley finished the 22-23 campaign at Sheppey United, making twenty two appearances and scoring five goals after joining the Ites in January. He spent the first half of the previous season with Faversham Town, making twenty two appearances, scoring four goals. He was a big part of the Herne Bay side that won promotion via the Play Offs at the end of the 21-22 season, making eighteen appearances and scoring four goals. He has previously played for the Cannons for a short time, and also spent two and a bit seasons with Sevenoaks Town, not that we finished the first two of them.
