Our Premier Cup weekend starts tonight

It’s time for our top flight sides to enter the FA Cup, and the road to Wembley starts this evening, with Aveley at home to Cheshunt. The Millers have won three of the last four, whilst the Ambers have become our early-season draw kings, taking one point from five of their six matches so far, whilst still searching for a win. The two meetings between the sides in the League last season both resulted in home wins. 

Three Bridges were delighted to pick up three points on Monday, their first win of their first Premier campaign coming against the then leaders, Carshalton Athletic. That makes them two unbeaten and they’ll hope for a third as Kingstonian make the trip. The K’s won’t make it easy; their only loss in six matches this season came via a penalty shootout. 

Right, onto Saturday.

Top flight Burgess Hill Town will be put to the test by the visit of Jersey Bulls. Hill are five unbeaten, whilst Bulls have started the South Central season positively too, their only defeat coming on penalties in the FA Trophy. This one kicks off early, at 1.30 PM.

Maldon and Tiptree take a break from worries about their future, for ninety minutes at least, as they travel to Cambridge City. The Jammers haven’t played for a fortnight - a win at Leatherhead- whilst City have started the campaign well, playing six competitive matches and winning five of them. Malden won both of last season’s meetings between the sides, but City will certainly fancy their chances.

Carshalton Athletic will hope to bounce back from losing their one hundred percent record last time out as they travel to take on Pitching In Southern Premier side Chertsey Town. The Curfews had a very positive start to the season, but have lost their last two.

Brentwood Town don’t have too far to travel, the Blues heading to North Division side Concord Rangers. Town have lost four in a row and will hope to end that run, whilst the Beachboys have had a fantastic start, unbeaten in six matches in League and Cups, and will be eyeing a giant killing.

AFC Whyteleafe hit the road to Crowborough Athletic. The Crows have lost three in a row in League and Trophy, whilst Leafe are still without a win after six matches. Leafe defeated Athletic twice last season, by an aggregate score of eleven-nil.

Dulwich Hamlet are at home to East Grinstead Town. Hamlet have won fifty percent of their matches so far, and are unbeaten at home; whilst the Wasps, these days in the SCFL, have had a mixed start with two wins, two draws and two defeats, but did knock Bognor Regis Town out of the competition on the road in an earlier round.

Egham Town are the hosts for Chatham Town. The Sarnies have actually won four of their six competitive fixtures so far despite a rather lowly League position, saving their best form for thew Cups; whilst the Chats hope to bounce back from two League defeats in a row.

Faversham Town welcome Welling United in a Kentish derby. The Lilywhites have had a fine start to their season, unbeaten in seven matches- and have won each of their four home fixtures so far. Wings fly in hoping to bounce back from defeat at Cray wanderers last time out, but were in good form prior to that and will be determined not to lose to their South East hosts.

League leaders Enfield Town travel to take on Frenford. The Towners have won four in a row and five from six, whilst their hosts are flying high in the Essex Senior League with a one hundred percent record- and have won their last three home matches, one of them in the last round against Step Four side Haringey Borough.

Leatherhead welcome Croydon Athletic to Fetcham Grove. The Tanners started the campaign strongly but have lost two of their last three, whilst Athletic started their campaign slowly but have bounced back to win four in a row.

Lewes and Cray Wanderers meet at the Dripping Pan. The Rooks are flying, winning four in a row whilst conceding only one goal, whilst Wands have won their last two and were impressive in walloping Welling United last time out. Wanderers took four points from the Rooks last season. 

Ramsgate are at home to Pitching In Southern Premier side Bracknell Town. The Rams have been rather inconsistent this season but walloped Whyteleafe on Monday (although the visitors did have the consolation of scoring straight from a restart), whilst their visitors have saved all of their good form for home matches, losing every match on their travels. 

St Albans City renew acquaintances with Hashtag United, although of course this seasons that’s a Premier v North clash. The Saints are two unbeaten, whilst the Tags have won each of their six competitive matches so far, scoring a rather incredible twenty six goals in the process (whilst conceding three). City defeated the Tags home and away last season.

Stanway Rovers will hope for a first win of the campaign as they welcome Pitching In Southern Premier side Needham Market. Rovers have lost five in a row, whilst their visitors have had a mixed start to their campaign but have won two out of three on the road. 

Dartford travel around the M25 to Woking, where they take on Westfield. The Darts have four wins from six so far and defeated Chatham Town on Monday, whilst their hosts sit in fourth place in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, and walloped Egham Town on Monday. Field have been more successful on the road than at Woking Park so far, however. 

Whitehawk will make another attempt to pick up their first win of the campaign as Eastbourne Borough head their way. The Hawks have taken two points from their first six matches, whilst much-fancied Borough have lost three in a row and will hope that things are about to improve. 

Wingate and Finchley play host to North opponents, Felixstowe and Walton United making the trip. The Blues were three unbeaten prior to losing to Enfield Town on Monday; whilst the travelling Seasiders will hope that they’ve found their feet after a poor start, their thumping win over Brightlingsea Regent on Monday making it two wins in a row.
