Pitching In Isthmian Premier Supporters Predictions- Final Table
You’ve been reading their predictions- now here’s their final top flight verdict!
For the last month you’ve been reading the reviews, previews and predictions of many of our supporters, across all four of our Divisions. You’ve also been seeing their predicted top fives, but what you may not have been aware- if you’re new to the Pitching In Isthmian League, particularly- is that each of our participants picks not only the top five but an entire one to twenty two for their chosen Division. We take those predictions, add them all together, and then, just before the big kick off, produce a predicted league table for each Division- and often it ends up printed out and stuck on a dressing room wall before three o’clock (yes, we’ve seen the photographic evidence!).
Next up, we have the Premier Division. This is what you think it will look like at the end of the season:
1. Billericay Town
2. Dartford
3. St Albans City
4. Chatham Town
5. Welling United
6. Aveley
7. Carshalton Athletic
8. Cray Valley PM
9. Folkestone Invicta
10. Chichester City
11. Hashtag United
12. Ramsgate
13. Cray Wanderers
14. Lewes
15. Dulwich Hamlet
16. Wingate & Finchley
17. Cheshunt
18. Potters Bar Town
19. Canvey Island
20. Brentwood Town
21. Whitehawk
22. Burgess Hill Town
It’s no shock to find that you expect Billericay Town to go up as champions, given the fine margins that meant they missed out last season. Additionally, given that Dartford pushed Billericay and Horsham all the way, it isn’t a surprise that you place them second.
The three clubs relegated from National League South all figure highly in our table, with two of them expected to occupy a play off place. That said, you’ve placed rather a large margin between St Albans City and Welling United- a margin you’ve filled with Chatham Town- and an even larger margin between the Wings and sixth place Aveley. You also suggest that Cray Valley PM and Chichester City, who had magnificent first Premier campaigns after promotion, will find things a little more difficult this time around- and indeed the highest placed of our newly promoted clubs are Ramsgate, and in your opinion they will sit outside the top ten.
At the wrong end of the table you suggested that newly promoted Burgess Hill Town and Brentwood Town would not survive the challenge of our top flight, which we’re sure will spur both sides on as they attempt to prove you wrong! You also suggest that two of our favourite Premier trips to the seaside will come to an end, as you relegate both Canvey Island and Whitehawk.
We’d like to thank all those who have taken part- a record number this year. We’ll have announcements about your favourite ground and your favourite food on Monday.
Now, time to stop guessing, and to start enjoying some actual football!
