Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Buckhurst Hill

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see shortly.

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

It’s gotta be our play-off final victory over Barking. Been at the club nearly my entire life and seeing us promoted will be a day I will never forget.

And what was the worst moment?

Match-Day 12. A 2-1 defeat away from home to Hackney Wick found us near the bottom end of the table with ambitions of finishing near the top of the table very slim.

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Our supporters player of the season went to Harry Lusher. A very well deserved winner after the 17 year old striker picked up top scorer as well after only joining us in late September. A great achievement in just his first senior in senior football!

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

All of them ! But if I had to pick two, would have to say Harvey Brown and Josh Banfield. Two players full of experience that can drive this team forward to great things.

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

I personally hope for survival at the minimum but a finish near the top half of the table in our first ever season at Step 4 would be incredible.

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

It would have to be ‘I want your soul’ by Armand Van Helden. The song became very well known on match-days and really just became our club song.

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

It’s gotta be Hullbridge Sports’ Darren Phillips. A true non league player. Can either player in defence or upfront and is always tough to play against.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Looking forward to visiting all of them! But Cambridge City looks top.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Ilford FC had some top burgers last season with lovely staff as well.
