We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.
Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?
To be honest it’s not as if there were many highlights- but Hendon away in January or Dulwich away in the League Cup stand out. Both big wins and helped build momentum in the push to stay up.
And what was the worst moment?
Egham Town, Moneyfields, Leatherhead away - we were poor and were on the wrong end of a couple of bad decisions.
Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?
EASY! Eddie Simons. His return improved the squad. He had to share the club’s golden boot with Sean O’Brien.
Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?
Jordan Gallagher - a deadly goal scorer last two years with Farnham & Leatherhead. Will add competition and goals to the squad. Wouldn’t be surprised if him and Ed are battling for club- and maybe even league- top scorer.
Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?
Playoffs - it’s going to be a tough league to get out of but I’d back us to make the playoffs.
If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?
We have one- Everybody wants to rule the world by Tears for Fears.
From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?
Manolis Gogonas because he’s an engine in defence and midfield. We had him at Ks a few years ago.
What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?
Guernsey (not sure that counts anymore, sadly!- Isthmian Ian). One simple reason, have to fly to it- and when we played them away it was a great weather over the Easter (Sunday to Tuesday)
If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?
Going back to our Premier days, I’d say Potters Bar or Horsham. Both have been enjoyable (less said about the result the majority of times).
