Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Whitstable Town

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see shortly.

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

Goes without saying winning the league in a such dominant fashion was top of the list. We also won the Kent Senior Trophy as a bonus. A record FA cup run that ended in the fourth round with an away day at Wealdstone was also up there. Best game was our home game against Erith and Belvedere where we came from behind to win scoring two goals in added time.

And what was the worst moment?

There weren't many defeats but the one on penalties against Cockfosters in the FA Vase was a big blow. There was a belief that we could have gone all the way again. 

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

A tough one to answer as everyone played their part. I'd have to go with Javaun Splatt, who was really impressive up top scoring 34 goals in all competitions. 

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

First off a massive shout-out to Jack Nelson, Robbie Rees and Dan Colmer for being the only players to stay following the summer upheaval. The fans really appreciate it. I think Derek Asamoah looks a handful from what I've seen in preseason, even at the ripe old age of 45. You can tell he's played at a high level with his movement and runs. Ian Gayle also looks like a great leader at the back who can help the squad gel quickly. 

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

It's hard to tell when you have a completely new team and management. I think we will finish in and around mid table. I'll say 12th. 

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

Muse- Supremacy. You need a song that's going to hype up both the players and the crowd and the opening of this song would do just that. 

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

I can't remember his name but the Cockfosters number 5 centre half was massive for them and so commanding. From a league point of view whenever I've seen Jaimie Phillpot play he has scored so I'd take him.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

I like Faversham towns as you can get right behind the managers and get a good insight as to what they are doing tactically. It also feels really enclosed which I enjoy.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Maidstone hosted the cup final last year and they do a great burger. Can't beat the Belmont bites burgers though!
