Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Witham Town

Jamie Crispin takes a moment to talk us through the world of Witham

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see shortly.

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

It was an up and down season, but 2-1 victory over Felixstowe was memorable. Great performance from the boys- even when Felixstowe levelled very late we responded with a late winner!

And what was the worst moment?

Losing 5-0 at home to Walthamstow. Down to 10 men as well on a Tuesday night. Something that needed to be forgotten quickly!

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Sam Bantick. Unbelievable goalscorer and gets goals at critical times. Glad he is staying another season!

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

Big man George Smith. Looks good in pre season and hopefully he and Sam combine well this season.

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

Play offs. Been unlucky the last couple of seasons to miss out but turning a few negative results into positive ones will push us in the right direction.

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

Freed from Desire - Never fails to get everyone in the mood and pumped up.

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

He was a player for Witham last year, but has gone now to Tilbury. Ben Allen. Great technical player.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Bowers & Pitsea is a lovely ground and the burgers are top notch. I do want to go Cambridge City this season.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

I have been to Concord a couple of times and their burgers are decent-but the Bowers ones in the tin foil were stunning.

Please predict your top five:

Felixstowe and Walton United

Canvey Island

Redbridge

Gorelston

Bowers and Pitsea
