Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Wroxham

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see shortly.

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

Many highlights from last season. A 1-0 win at Stanway Rovers in atrocious conditions and beating Gorleston at home on a Bank Holiday Monday was special. A 4-3 home win over Waltham Abbey and a 3-2 win at Witham will also live long in the memory.

And what was the worst moment?

Has to be Grays away. We missed a few good chances at 0-0 and ended up losing. It was a long journey home on a Wednesday night. 

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

The manager, Jordan Southgate, voted Charlie Norman as his Player of the Season whilst Travis Dodsworth got the supporters award. Personally, my vote went to Jordan King - consistent every week and led by example as club captain. 

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

Every player will play their part. The manager has brought in some unbelievable signings and Adam Crookes from Gainsborough Trinity stands out. Adam has previous experience at Lincoln City, Port Vale, Grimsby Town and York City. Billy Batch, ex Fleetwood Town, has also signed. Sammy Johnson and Kieren Money will make big impacts in midfield and striker, Ryan Hawkins who returns to the club and guarantees goals. 

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

We were never outside the top eight last season and fell short on the final day, missing out on the play offs. I have a real belief that we can go one better this season and secure a place in the top seven. 

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

Alive and Kicking by Simple Minds. Decent. 

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

Mikey Faulkner, he was exceptional against Wroxham when he came with Bowers & Pitsea.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

I didn’t miss an away game last season. I enjoyed Felixstowe and Walton - great set up there and fairly local but it has to be Cambridge City, unreal facilities.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Maldon & Tiptree - our physio Billy Dunton will back me on that one. You have never seen a man eat so much after a game!
