Preview: Concord Rangers v Lowestoft Town
Bobby Kelman versus Aaron Bullent: Two forwards in fine form face each other as Concord Rangers host Lowestoft Town! Alex and Luke bring you a preview
One is an electric winger. Pacey, skillful, and deadly if you let him into the box. That’s Bobby Kelman, the 17 for Concord Rangers. The other is an explosive striker. Direct, strong, and composed in the box when he needs to be. That’s Aaron Bullent, the 10 for Lowestoft Town.
And the two face each other this weekend. With both having 7 goals in all competitions so far this season, both sides will be hoping that their man will be on the scoresheet at Thames Road on Saturday.
Concord Rangers Club Secretary Colin Gamble believes that following his club’s 2-1 win away at Walthamstow they will build momentum going forward, and ‘would hope’ that Kelman can net for Concord again.
With Concord Rangers sitting in 8th, just a few points off the playoff positions, they’ll be looking to secure a home victory over a 12th placed Lowestoft Town, who have only won once in their last 5 games. Lowestoft will certainly be looking to bounce back from this run of form though.
Another player to look out for will be Concord Rangers’ right back Tambeson Eyong, who joined the club this August. He took on the captaincy last time out and has helped the club keep 3 clean sheets so far this season, and will be hoping to add a 4th after Saturday’s fixture.
Mr Gamble spoke highly of Eyong, saying ‘he was a great acquisition’ and that he has had a great start to his Concord Rangers career.
Meanwhile for Lowestoft Town, they will be hoping that their new signing, former Ipswich Town centre-back George Chenery, can provide competition for those defensive positions, potentially showing his worth to claim a regular starting berth as well. He did not play for Lowestoft Town last week, with the club instead opting to let him train and integrate within the team more.
So Saturday’s 3pm game between Concord Rangers and Lowestoft Town looks set to be a thriller then, with two sides looking optimistic about picking up all 3 points, and hoping that Kelman and Bullent continue to add to their respective tallies in this game.
