Rocks or City- who will be top on Saturday evening?

Bognor Regis Town have had a storming start to their Pitching In Isthmian South Central campaign, and the Rocks will hope to increase their one point lead at the top as they welcome Harrow Borough. Bognor are looking for a fourth league win in a row, whilst Borough are hoping to build on their three-nil win at Egham in midweek, and start the weekend in fourteenth spot. Borough took four points from their meetings last season.

Third place Winchester City and eleventh place Jersey Bulls both bring unbeaten League records into their encounter in Hampshire. City had a fabulous start to their campaign but have drawn their last two, whilst Bulls have only played three League matches so far, winning two of them- but will want to quickly put a midweek cup defeat in Burgess Hill behind them. A win for City and a draw of defeat for Bognor would see City go top.

Sixth place Cobham won a five goal thriller against Hayes and Yeading United in midweek, but are on the road this time, making a trip to Woking to take on tenth place Westfield. Both sides are looking for a third win in a row- and if the hosts get one they’ll go above their visitors.

Bedfont Sports will hope to climb into the Play Off places as they welcome a Moneyfields side who are having rather a slow start to their campaign. Sports have one defeat from their five opening fixtures, whilst the Moneys have also played five but are still looking for their first win, and are six points and twelve places behind their hosts. Both matches between the sides last season ended in home wins.

Ascot United are at home to Raynes Park Vale, fifteenth v thirteenth. The Yellas will consider themselves unlucky to fall to an added time defeat against Southall in midweek, and will be keen to ensure they don’t lose three in a row; whilst Vale have lost three of their last four League matches and are also looking to avoid an unwanted trio. United have won the last four meetings between the sides.

Some improved performances have lifted Littlehampton Town out of the bottom four, but they are still looking for a first win as Hartley Wintney travel to the Sportsfield. The visitors are only one point above their hosts but they have played three matches fewer, and are looking to extend their unbeaten run to three matches. The Golds are already three unbeaten, but each of those was a draw. Town defeated these opponents at the seaside as recently as April 11th. 

Into the FA Cup.

Hendon take a break from their promotion chasing to head to Berkhamsted in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round. Ten matches for the greens this season in all competitions have come with only one defeat, whilst their hosts sit in sixth place in Pitching In Southern Premier South where, after an uncertain start to the campaign, they are five unbeaten in all competitions. 

AFC Portchester head to Brackley Town, their hosts two steps higher- in National League North. Town are fourth from bottom and have won only one of their last seven matches in League and Cups, as well as conceding eight goals in their last two matches- and the Royals will be determined to spring a surprise. Portchester have played eleven competitive matches so far this season and lost only once, and are looking for a sixth win in a row in all competitions. 

Dartford are the hosts for Hayes and Yeading United, the Darts in third place in our top flight after three wins in a row- whilst Hayes have had a mixed start to the South Central season with only one win from four so far.

Top flight favourites Eastbourne Borough have looked to be finding their feet, winning their last two matches in the League, and welcome South Central opposition, Windsor & Eton making the trip from river to sea. The visitors have shown some decent form this season but will want to bounce back from a hammering at the hands of AFC Portchester last weekend.

Premier Division Leatherhead travel to take on Kingstonian, the Tanners- who were unbeaten on the road last season- showing similar form on their travels this season, with three wins and a draw from four away matches. Eight competitive matches for the K’s this season have brought only one defeat, and that on penalties in the FA Trophy. 

AFC Stoneham have one of the biggest matches in their history, as they travel to the Devon Riviera to take on Torquay United, the Gulls these days inn tenth place in National League South. Torquay are unbeaten on their own patch this season and have taken seven points from their last three matches, whilst Stoneham have had a poor start to their League campaign with three defeats yet have been superb in the Cup, and indeed defeated a ‘giant’- Basingstoke Town- in the last round. Sunday has unbeaten Southall welcoming the might of National League South side Dorking Wanderers. The All are nine unbeaten in all competitions, whilst their visitors sit in ninth place two Steps higher, and are five unbeaten- although they have drawn their last three. Wanderers have two defeats from nine this season- both of those coming at home, so they are unbeaten on the road.
