Royals hit five- and Borough get four

The most common South Central score of the evening was nil- yet we weren’t really short of goals!
AFC Portchester welcomed a Hartley Wintney side who had their eye on a top five spot- but as it turned out, five certainly wasn’t their lucky number. The hosts made a breakthrough in the ninth minute, Lee Wort with the opener, and on the stroke of half time the hosts were two up, Brett Pitman converting from the spot. Just after the hour the road back into the match was closed for The Row as Wort made it three, and sixteen minutes from time Alfie Stanley added a fourth. Still the hosts weren’t finished, Connor Duffin quickly making it five-nil.
Portchester are sixteenth, whilst Hartley Wintney stay seventh.
Egham Town were the hosts for Bedfont Sports, and neither side could manage a goal. The Sarnies are eleventh, and six unbeaten, whilst Sports are fifteenth and have drawn three in a row.
Southall host South Park Reigate this evening.
In the Velocity Cup we had a South Central derby, as Harrow Borough welcomed Hendon. Borough delivered a thumping, but in truth the visitors gave them a helping hand.
Hendon actually went ahead just before the half hour, Florian Ada with the opener, but Borough took only three minutes to level courtesy of Charlie Malin. Nine minutes into the second half, however, visiting keeper Josh Strizovic saw red after a challenge on Gareth Chendlik, and the greens had no option but to thrust skipper Dave Diedhiou between the sticks. His first action with the gloves involved him picking Chendlik’s spot kick out of the net, and on sixty five minutes it was three-one, Reece Robins delighting the home faithful. A red card for Richie Mbele reduced the visitors to nine, and just before the end Lenny Farhall added a fourth goal to increase the margin of victory.
