A pair of Charlie's become part of the City family

Charlie Royle arrives in Cambridge- and Charlie Norman, too

Cambridge City have announced the signing of forward Charlie Royle.

Charlie played football for Norwich City as a youngster before joining Kings Lynn Town aged sixteen, and was the top scorer for the Under 19 side prior to signing his first senior contract with the club in the summer of 2023. He had loan spells at Soham Town Rangers and Heacham before first coming our way with Wroxham, scoring three times in seventeen appearances whilst on loan in the early stages of the 24-25 season.

Last season found him at Downham Town, where he had a successful campaign, scoring thirteen times in forty appearances.

Also arriving is Wroxham full back Charlie Norman. Charlie joined the Yachtsmen last summer from Lowestoft Town, and played forty two times as his side fought for a Play Off place, ultimately unsuccessfully.

He played thirty eight times for the Trawler Boys during the 24-25 season. That followed twenty eight appearances as they took our North Division title in 23-24, and forty one as they reached the Play Off Semi-Finals the season before. Prior to his time as a Trawler Boy he played for Sherringham and Norwich City.
