Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, November 2025
Here are our latest performance awards - as we celebrate a goal-packed November
Our congratulations for some superb performances go to the following clubs:
Pitching In Isthmian Premier
On the very first day of the month, Wingate and Finchley headed to Brentwood Town, their hosts sitting pretty at the top of the table. Brentwood were unbeaten on their own patch in all competitions- indeed only Dartford had escaped with as much as a draw- but they were swept away by the North Londoners.
Town had been our comeback kings, coming from behind to win on TEN occasions, and after only five minutes of their match with Wingate and Finchley knew that they’d need to do it again, Ryan Lowe putting the visitors ahead- but this time they weren’t given a chance to show their resilience. Kyron Horsley-Mckay made it two only three minutes later, and on the half hour it was three-nil, Camilo Restrepo increasing the shock amongst the home fans. In added time at the end of the half Gianluca Botti added a fourth. The second half had no further goals- right until the end, when the visitors rubbed salt into home wounds by adding a fifth, Romeo Akinola making it five goals and five different scorers for Wingate, who made it three wins in a row and five unbeaten.
Many congratulations to Wingate and Finchley, who will now have a trophy to help them remember their feat.
Pitching In Isthmian North
When Waltham Abbey headed to take on leaders Felixstowe and Walton United on the last Saturday of the month, they’ll have done so filled with confidence. The Seasiders hadn’t lost in the League since the opening day, but the victors that day, of course, were the Abbotts, so they’ll have expected that they could do it all again. That said, the manner of their victory was rather more unexpected.
Felixstowe were in front on fourteen minutes, Sam Ford with his tenth of the season, but the Abbotts were soon level, an own goal doing the damage, and on twenty three minutes they hit the front, Aaron Eyoma making it two-one. Only two minutes later the (sea)shellshocked hosts were even further behind, Amrit Bansal-McNulty making it three-one, and still the Abbotts pressed on, Kai Brown adding a fourth just after the half hour. On thirty seven minutes things got even worse for the hosts, Brown with a fifth, and that was how it stood at half time.
On sixty three minutes Jose Santa de La Paz got a goal back for United, but almost immediately it was six-two as Brown claimed the match ball. Still they weren’t finished, Bansal-McNulty adding number seven, but at that point the massacre ended, and indeed a massacre it was.
Defeating the leaders on their own patch was always a result which would be a candidate for Performance of the Month. Scoring seven goals would make it all the more likely. But when you consider that the Abbotts scored as many goals against United as our top side had conceded in the entirety of their previous seventeen matches- at that point it became a certainty!
Many congratulations to the Abbotts on a rather phenomenal performance.
Pitching In Isthmian South Central
Harrow Borough hit the road to East Anglia on November 15th, and they had a rather formidable prospect in front of them. The occasion was the FA Trophy Second Round, and their opponents were two Divisions higher, Kings Lynn Town of National League North.
The hosts went ahead on five minutes and added a second fifteen minutes later, but on sixty five minutes Harrow had hope, Dernell Wynter getting a goal back. It got even better. Seven minutes from time Wynter got an equaliser, and that sent the match to penalties. Borough kept their nerve, and delivered a famous triumph from the spot, helped particularly by keeper Tom Clark, who saved three penalties.
If you want to know exactly what this victory meant to the club, we suggest you read Brian Walter’s magnificent match report- here- as we couldn’t possibly better it. But as well as the memories, the club will now have a glass reminder that will raise a smile every time it is spotted in the trophy cabinet. Many congratulations!
Pitching In Isthmian South East Division
Eastbourne Town headed to Kent with a rather tough task in prospect. Their hosts, Faversham Town, were the holders of the last remaining unbeaten record in the entire League- but they most certainly weren’t holding it ninety minutes later; indeed, it had been cast to the ground and thoroughly trampled on.
Leon Grieg put the Sussex side ahead on sixteen minutes. Faversham were soon level, Johan Caney-Bryan equalising, but Nathan Hover quickly restored the visitors lead and, four minutes before half time, Greig got a third! The next goal arrived deep in added time at the end of the match, and again it went to Eastbourne- Aaron Capon making it four-one, wrapping up what was perhaps the club’s best ever Isthmian victory and taking the points, and the plaudits, back to the seaside.
Many congratulations to all at the club- who will soon have a permanent reminder of the feat, courtesy of Shepherd Neame.
