Stagg is back at Witham
Tom Stagg returns to Witham Town
Witham Town prepared for their festive fixtures by bringing back Tom Stagg.
Tom was with Bowers and Pitsea earlier this season, but played only twice. He then returned to Bury Town.
Tommy ended last season by helping Bury Town to promotion- his second Promotion Final win in a row after doing the same with Bowers the season before. He made seven Bury appearances after moving to Ram Meadow from fellow North Division side Witham Town, where he made eight appearances and scored two goals. He moved to Witham from Concord Rangers, where he made twelve appearances and scored seven goals this last.
As we noted, he ended the 23-24 season as a promotion winner with Bowers, scoring three goals in fifteen matches after moving to Essex from Leatherhead. He joined the Tanners in October 2023 from Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Cheshunt, where he made two appearances. He went on to play fourteen times for Leatherhead, and scored five goals.
He has no shortage of previous Pitching In Isthmian experience. He played Under 18 and Under 21 football for Colchester United, but whilst with the U's spent time on loan with a succession of our clubs, including Maldon & Tiptree (naturally), Witham Town and East Thurrock United. He then had his first spell with the Billericay Town, who were then in National League South, before two more Isthmian spells during the 21-22 season, with Brentwood Town and Hashtag United. His time at Brentwood saw him play four times, and then he played three times for the Tags, scoring on his debut against Great Wakering Rovers. The 22-23 season saw him have a second spell at Billericay Town before ending the campaign at Grays Athletic, where he played six times and scored once.
