Sykes and Heatley head to Takeley

Charlie Heatley and George Sykes sign on

Takeley have announced the arrivals of forwards Charlie Heatley and George Sykes.

Charlie ended last season at Walthamstow, and he ended it in fine form, with eleven goals in eighteen matches. He was previously with VCD Athletic, where his nineteen matches last season saw him score seven times.

That was his second season with the Vickers, as he helped them to promotion at the end of 24-25. He also spent time with Tilbury.

He started the 22-23 season at Basildon United, making six appearances. He ended the 21-22 season with Whitstable Town, scoring twice in eleven appearances as the Oysters failed to retain their Pitching In Isthmian South East status.

He moved down to the Kent coast from Barking, where he had scored nine goals in thirty one appearances- and he reyurned to Barking during 22-23 in the Essex Senior League. He previously played for Frenford, and prior to that for FC Hamlets and Mile End, and apparently was once a goalkeeper- so at least his new manager won't need one of those on the bench!

George played for Enfield last season. He was with Brentwood Town during their Pitching In Isthmian North title winning campaign of 24-25, playing seventeen times and scoring twice, and also had some time at Concord Rangers. That followed twenty five appearances and five goals the previous season, as he helped them to the Play Off Final after moving to Essex from Enfield Town.

George ended the 22-23 season at Aveley, celebrating the double of a Pitching In Isthmian Premier Play Off win and a Velocity Cup victory, a season which saw him play forty nine times- including in both of those finals- and score a total of nineteen goals. He also scored twenty goals as the Millers won the Pitching In Isthmian North title the previous season, seven in twelve matches during the incredible short 20-21 campaign, and had seventeen goals when 19-20 crashed to a halt. Prior to his time at Parkside, he turned out for Barnet, Farnborough, Bishop's Stortford, St Albans City, Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree and Tilbury. He also had a short earlier spell at Brentwood Town.
