Tangerine Sam to run the marathon for Alzheimer's Research UK

Ashford Town skipper Sam Humphreys pulling on his trainers for the London Marathon- all for a fabulous cause
Ashford Town captain Sam Humphreys has already covered many miles this season- he's made thirty one appearances (and, by the way, every time he has scored the Tangerines have won!)- but he'll be covering twenty six more the day after their final match of the season, as he will be running the London Marathon.
Sam explains:
'In April 2025, I will be running the 2025 TCS London Marathon for Alzheimer's Research UK! This is a charity close to my heart, and will be dedicating this run to my late Grandad, who sadly battled Alzheimer’s Disease in his later years.
Alzheimer’s is a cruel and relentless illness that affects millions of families, and it took away so many precious moments with my Grandad. I want to honor his memory and contribute to the fight against this devastating disease. That’s why I’m fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK.'
It's a fabulous effort and an extremely worthwhile cause, so we'd like to send our best wishes to Sam in his endeavours. Here's hoping that Saturday's match against Southall doesn't leave him with any blisters!
