Towners return to the summit- with the latest of goals

Enfield Town visited Carshalton Athletic- and left with the points. Our Monday Premier round up, in association with our friends at Dyno-Rod

Our Monday Night Football came from Colston Avenue, as Carshalton Athletic looked to avoid a fifth successive home defeat, with Enfield Town the visitors.

For much of the second half it seemed as if the Robins were going to take a point. They fell behind in the first half, Amrit Bansal-McNulty sending a fantastic free kick over the wall and beyond Ben Dudzinski in the  home goal, but within four minutes of the second half the hosts were level, a corner causing chaos in the visitors defence and Nathan Young-Coombes delivering the simplest of equalisers, his seventh goal of the season.

Eighteen minutes from the end Town were handed a golden chance to win the game, awarded a penalty, but on this occasion Dudzinski was the master, making a fine save to keep the scores level- and that looked to be that, but it most certainly wasn't. Right at the end substitute Tariq Al-Sadi showed the home defence a clean pair of heels, displaying some fine footwork and a fine finish to send the points back to North London.

Town go three points clear at the top; whilst Athletic are fifth, but they can't be enjoying playing at home at present. That's five defeats in a row in League and Cups at Colston Avenue, and in contrast they've won three in a row on the road. Monday evening matches haven't been their friends, either; the Robins have  traditionally liked to play on a Monday, but that's four Monday matches in a row they've lost, too.

Saturday sees Town travel to Three Bridges, whilst Athletic are also on the road, at Dulwich Hamlet.
