Two in a row for the Chats
Chatham Town win the Isthmian Women's Cup- for the second year in succession
Chatham Town faced Bowers and Pitsea in the Isthmian Women's Cup Final last night- and the Chats once more found Billericay Town's New Lodge a happy hunting ground.
Last season they travelled to Essex to face on Billericay on their own patch, and headed back to Kent with silverware. Jess King made the trip home with the match ball after scoring a hat trick- and now she has another, one of two players to score three goals in a dominant seven-one victory.
The other hat trick hero was Amelia Woodgate, with the other goal coming from Ellie Perkins.
It took only one minute for King to put the Chats ahead, and two minutes later Woodgate added the second. Bowers got one back midway through the first half but that seemingly just provoked their opponents to do even better, and on thirty three minutes Perkins hit the third before King quickly got number four.
That was that for the first half, but within two minutes of the restart King had her hat trick. Eighteen minutes from time Woodgate made it six, and four minutes from time the same player put away number seven to round off a fantastic night- and clinch a second trophy in a row.
Congrats to the Chats- who have a second Cup Final coming shortly, as they take on Dartford in the Kent Women’s Cup final.
