Walsh of the Greens

Gorleston brought in Billy Walsh in time to make a debut from the bench in Tuesday's draw at Lowestoft Town.

A midfielder, Billy came through the ranks at one of our former clubs, AFC Sudbury, and indeed skippered the yellows under-19s side to national cup victory in the England Colleges FA Men’s Knockout Trophy Final last season. That got him spotted and signed by Aldershot Town, and he spent a little time with Hayes & Yeading United at the start of last season, featuring in an FA Cup win at Epsom & Ewell in August. He made his Shots debut in the National League Cup win over Derby County in October 2024, and earlier this year had a loan spell at Hendon and another at Stanway Rovers. 

He moved to Leiston in the summer and has made nine appearances. His move to the Greens is on loan.
