Watson, Collis and McKenzie are new at Regent
A trio land in Brightlingsea
Joe Watson spent some of last season playing for Clacton, making thirteen appearances and scoring six goals. He moved to the seaside from Heybridge Swifts, where he played for the youth team, and was previously a youth player at Colchester United.
Charlie Collis first signed for Regent during the closing stages of the 23-24 campaign, the midfielder making a move from Clacton. He made twenty eight appearances for Clacton during that campaign, and helped out with five goals. He also spent the two pre-pandemic seasons on our patch, with Harlow Town, and prior to that turned out for Needham Market.
He made forty appearances for Regent as they reached the North Play Off Final in 24-25, and five appearances last season as he returned to the club on a short term loan.
Mekhi McKenzie makes a move after winning promotion with Stanway Rovers. He joined Rovers in March and played five times.
Mekhi was a big part of the Brentwood Town side which won our Pitching In Isthmian North title during 24-25, and indeed made one appearance in our top flight last season. That 24-25 campaign saw him play thirty seven times and score seven goals, whilst there were twenty seven appearances and fourteen goals as the Blues reached the Promotion Final in 23-24.
He was also with AFC Sudbury last season, playing sixteen times and scoring once. He played three times for Essex Senior League side Saffron Walden Town, too.
He previously had two spells at Brightlingsea Regent, an earlier spell at AFC Sudbury, and also turned out for Clacton.
