We’ve a fabulous Friday in prospect- with big matches in North and South Central

All roads lead to Felixstowe and Uxbridge (a temporary relocation for Southall) as we have two options for your Friday night football fix
It’s Friday, and, rather unusually, we’ve two matches tonight, in the Pitching In Isthmian North and South Central Divisions.
Whilst both matches are important, perhaps the most crucial of the two comes from Felixstowe and Walton United. Our leaders will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s thumping at the hands of second place Maldon and Tiptree- and if they fail to do so there’s every chance they won’t be top of the table come Saturday evening, with the Jammers scheduled to travel to second bottom Downham Town.
The Seasiders face a tough task, as their visitors are fifth place Stanway Rovers. Felixstowe were nine unbeaten until that defeat, whilst Rovers also lost last time out, but their defeat on February 10th followed a six match winning streak. With sixth place Gorleston behind them only on goal difference, and seventh place Redbridge only two points further back, Rovers will be determined not to lose their grip on a play off place.
The sides drew two-two when they last met, a Sam Ford double- the last of them two minutes from time- earning Felixstowe a point as they recovered from two goals down.
Pitching In Isthmian South Central has Southall’s match against Raynes Park Vale moved to Uxbridge’s 3G pitch. The All’s win over Ascot United on Wednesday lifted them out of the bottom four at the expense of the Yellas, whilst Vale have climbed to seventh after a run of one defeat from six.
Southall have also found form and indeed have lost only one of their last seven- but with only a point separating them from the bottom four they won’t want to let their momentum stop. Vale find themselves eleven points away from the top five, but won’t yet have abandoned their hopes of crashing into the Play offs.
Kick off for both matches is at 7.45 PM.
