Will the Yachtsmen sail to the top?

With leaders Hashtag United in Trophy action second place Wroxham have the chance to hit the summit if they can defeat Witham Town on the road. The Yachtsmen could have gone top in midweek but instead fell to defeat against Gorleston, and will want to make sure they don’t miss another chance. They had won five in a row prior to that defeat. Their hosts find themselves fourth from bottom, having started the season with two wins but since lost three in a row.

Concord Rangers, in fourth, are only three points off the top but are rather unlikely to reach the summit this weekend as there is a rather large goal difference gap. The Beachboys will want to win nonetheless, and to bounce back from defeat against Buckhurst Hill in midweek, but they face a tough challenge as they travel to eighth place Little Oakley. The hosts walloped Lowestoft Town in midweek. 

Gorleston, in fifth, are also only three points behind the leaders, the Greens four unbeaten- winning three, each with a clean sheet. They welcome the side one point and one place behind them, Cambridge City, the visitors having won four in a row and scored a more than impressive eighteen goals in the process, including five without reply against Witham in midweek.

Seventh place Bowers and Pitsea are on the road to winless Brightlingsea Regent, the hosts starting the weekend second from bottom and four points from safety. Bowers are five unbeaten, whilst their hosts have lost five in a row- end ended Tuesday night’s loss in Newmarket with only eight players.

Mulbarton Wanderers had a magnificent Tuesday, returning to winning ways by hitting Fakenham Town for four. They welcome a Felixstowe and Walton United side who are a point and two places behind their hosts, in thirteenth, the Seasiders still struggling to rediscover their usual fluency. They are three unbeaten, despite that.

Tilbury, with one defeat from five, travel to AFC Sudbury, two places and two points between them in the Dockers favour with the Yellows three unbeaten, whilst Buckhurst Hill will hope to build upon their fine midweek win at Concord Rangers as they host Fakenham Town, the travelling ghosts still hunting for a first win- and for a second point.

Walthamstow became the first side to defeat leaders Hashtag United in midweek, and will hope to build on that and climb further up the table as they host Lowestoft Town. The Trawler Boys will be trying to avoid a third defeat in a row, after a five-nil hammering at the hands of Little Oakley in midweek.
