Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Wingate and Finchley have announced eight new arrivals!
Ada Okorogheye, a forward, had a superb 24-25, winning promotion from Pitching In Isthmian South Central with Uxbridge. He made forty nine appearances and scored eighteen goals, including the equaliser in the Promotion Final against Hanworth Villa.
Ada spent the second half of the 23-24 season turning out for Pitching In Southern Premier South side Beaconsfield Town, making his debut in January 2024 after returning from the USA, where he had been playing and studying at Amherst College, home of the Amherst Mammoths! He was awarded the Howard Hill Mossman Trophy by the college, which recognises 'the member of the senior class who has brought, during their four years at Amherst, the greatest honor in athletics to the Alma Mater—the word ‘honor’ to be interpreted as relating both to achievement and to sportsmanship.' We suspect that wow is an appropriate word- congratulations Ada!
Prior to his time in the USA he was with the Academy at Slough Town.
Demaray Anyadike, a winger, was at Hendon at the start of last season, but left before it had even begun, heading back to one of his former clubs, Royston Town.
Demaray previously spent time with Hullbridge Sports during the 21-22 season and was more recently at Walthamstow. Demaray was on loan at Sports from Southend United, and had already had a loan spell at Harlow Town. He made nineteen appearances for Walthamstow in the first half of the 23-24 season, before moving on to Royston.
Another winger, Johnny Allotey, comes in from Ware, where he scored eleven goals last season. He previously had two spells at Harrow Borough which sandwiched spells at Hayes & Yeading United and Potters Bar Town, and was previously at Hitchin Town.
Alkeo Bani played for Hendon and Haringey Borough last season. He moved to Sittingbourne in the summer of 2024 after a fine 23-24 season at Wingate, but doesn't seem to have played at all for the Brickies. He made thirty five appearances for the Summers Lane side during 23-24, thirty one during 22-23 and thirteen during 21-22. He has also played for St Albans City, Basildon United and Bowers and Pitsea, after first playing youth football at Watford and Fleetwood Town.
Sam Cornish has been with the Blues before, playing forty one times during 22-23- after previously spending many years with Colchester United, who he joined aged only seven years old. He moved on to play for Hashtag United, and more recently has been with Welling United.
Whilst with the Colchester he had several Isthmian loan spells. He spent the closing stages of the 21-22 campaign with Potters Bar Town, managing eight appearances, and had already had two loan spells with Maldon & Tiptree (of course) and another with Witham Town. He made sixteen appearances for the Jammers between September and December 2021, and that followed seven the previous season, when he was a big part of their FA Trophy giantkilling exploits, featuring in the wins over Kingstonian, Enfield Town and Bognor Regis Town. He also spent a little time with Witham during the 2019-20 campaign.
He played forty four times with the Tags during 23-24.
Alfie Cutbush left Ipswich Town las summer and ended up at Heybridge Swifts, for whom he played forty three times last season.
Whilst a Tractor Boy the midfielder had a number of Isthmian loan spells. He had a spell at Bury Town during the early stages of the 22-23 campaign, where he made six appearances before heading back to his parent club just after Christmas- and he later went on to spend time at Stowmarket Town during the same campaign, playing five times. He also spent some loan time at Concord Rangers whilst they were still a National League South side.
Kyron Horsley-McKay spent time with Hastings United, Carshalton Athletic and Ashford Town last season.
He made eight appearances for (then) Pitching In Isthmian South Central Ashford Town, sixteen for Hastings, and eight for the Robins.
