Takeley add experience to their squad, as Connor Witherspoon signs on
Pitching In Isthmian North side Takeley have announced the arrival of experienced midfielder Connor Witherspoon.
Connor spent last season with Heybridge Swifts, and indeed played forty two times, a welcome constant presence as Swifts underwent many changes. He moved to Scraley Road in March 2025 after departing Brentwood Town, where he had already made thirty seven 24-25 appearances, playing a significant part in their promotion after helping them to the Play Off Final at the end of 23-24.
He joined Brentwood from Aveley. Connor joined the the Millers in 2017-18, and was a big part of their subsequent success, winning a great deal of silverware. He played twenty eight times in an injury hit 22-23 campaign, was a big part of their eventual Play Off Final victory and Velocity Cup wins, and the previous season managed thirty one appearances as they swept to the Pitching In Isthmian North title. He was part of the side that reached the FA Trophy Quarter Final during the pandemic hit 19-20 campaign, and a significant contributor to the side which reached the Play Off Semi-Final the season before.
Prior to his time with the Millers he helped steer Brightlingsea Regent to the North Division title in 2016-17, a season when they achieved one hundred and three points - twelve ahead of their nearest rivals.
