Canvey Island bring in Codey Cosgrave, Koby Yeboah, Alex Moss, Lewis Jaggs, Charlie Stimson, Tom Middlehurst and Louie Remi

Canvey Island have announced a large number of new arrivals, as boss Peter Taylor begins to build his squad for the forthcoming campaign.

Midfielder Codey Cosgrave comes in from Pitching In Isthmian South East promotion chasers Sittingbourne. He played forty one times for the Brickies last season, helped out with four goals, and was part of the squad that defeated Dover Athletic (in Cup and Trophy), Bognor Regis Town, Winchester City, Enfield Town and Southend United on the way to the FA Trophy Quarter Finals. He also had a loan spell at Cambridge City, where he featured five times towards the end of the campaign.

He played fifteen times for Grays Athletic during the 23-24 season, scoring three goals. He left Grays for a spell at Bishop's Stortford before becoming a Brickie.

Prior to heading our way he was a youth player with Brentford.

Midfielder Koby Yeboah was with Brentwood Town last season, playing five times. He also spent time with Ipswich Wanderers, making six appearances, and was with Redbridge prior to that, making a dozen appearances last season, and playing twenty nine times during the 23-24 campaign. You might also remember him playing for Aveley during the 21-22 campaign, when he made ten appearances.

He was previously with the Southend United youth setup.

Alex Moss, a defender, made thirty four appearances for Grays Athletic last season after a move from Basildon United. Alex joined the Bees in September 2023, and made thirty one appearances as his side finished ninth.

He moved to Basildon from Maldon & Tiptree. He signed for the Jammers in the summer of 2023, debuted in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie against Shefford Town and Campton on August 5th, and made eight appearances in total. He spent the 22-23 season with Hullbridge Sports, and played thirty seven times, also helping out with three goals. That was his third Sports season, as he played thirty one times during 21-22 and once as the 20-21 campaign shuddered to a speedy halt. He came through the youth sides at the club before graduating to the first team.

Lewis Jaggs picked up the armband for Concord Rangers last season, making forty three appearances. He also wore it for Maldon and Tiptree during the 23-24 season, playing thirty eight times. That followed fourteen appearances during the prior campaign.

The midfielder was previously with Tilbury, and in between the Dockers and Jammers he turned out for Great Wakering Rovers.

Charlie Stimson spent part of last season with Heybridge Swifts, and part of it with Redbridge. His Swifts spell, which has just ended, saw him play twenty one times and score six goals.

Charlie moved to Redbridge in the summer of 2024, from Grays Athletic. He has made fifteen appearances and scored four goals. He joined Athletic in the summer of 2023 from Hornchurch, where he had been- alongside his father, former Athletic boss Mark- since December 2018. His time with Athletic saw him play thirty three times and score sixteen goals.

Charlie came through the Academies at Tottenham Hotspur and Gillingham, and after leaving the Gills spent time with Barnet. Concord Rangers was up next, and a spell at Tooting & Mitcham United followed, before a six year period alongside his dad at Thurrock. The two them moved to Waltham Abbey for a short time before heading to the Urchins, where he was a big part of the side which won the FA Trophy in 2021 and reached two successive Pitching In Isthmian Premier Play Off Finals. He made thirty three appearances during the 22-23 season.

Keeper Tom Middlehurst ended last season at Tilbury, where he made eleven appearances.

Tom started last season with Cambridge City, and made sixteen appearances for the club. He has had two spells at Maldon and Tiptree, making fifteen appearances during 22-23 and another ten during the 23-24 season.

He previously spent a brief time at Aveley, and played for Coggeshall Town after departing Parkside, playing twenty five times, but despite his best efforts the Seed Growers couldn't hold onto their Pitching In Isthmian North status at the end of the 22-23 campaign.

Previously, Tom was a Cheltenham Town youth who moved to Queens Park Rangers as an under seventeen, and played for the club at Under 18 and Under 23 level. He played half a season on loan with Harlow Town.

Midfielder Louie Remi made fory six appearances for Grays Athletic last season, scoring ten goals. He moved to Grays from Maldon and Tiptree, where he made twenty nine appearances and scored five goals during 23-24. That followed six appearances and one goal in the closing stages of 22-23.

He was previously with New Salamis, where he'd managed eleven goals in twenty games during the 22-23 campaign before heading to the Jammers.
