A pair of new Millers
Crossley Lema and Charlie Edwards arrive at Cray Valley PM
Prior to their match against Dover Athletic, Cray Valley PM announced two new signings, Crossley Lema and Charlie Edwards the new Millers.
Edwards comes in from local rivals Cray Wanderers. The midfielder ended last season at Potters Bar Town, joining just before the transfer window slammed shut and managing nine appearances before the season did the same.
He was previously with Canvey Island, who he joined in November 2022, and he made thirty three appearances- with three goals- last season, following thirty one- and five goals- during 22-23. He also spent some of the 22-23 campaign with Corinthian-Casuals, playing ten times, after joining them in the closing stages of the previous campaign.
His spell at Potters Bar was his second period with the club, and he was previously with Wingate and Finchley, Harlow Town and Hertford Town, as well as Waltham Abbey, where he played for part of the 2018-19 and all of the 2019-20 campaigns. As a side note, the 2018 FA Cup Final ball had his name on it, in celebration of a goal he scored in a replay against Grays Athletic for Hertford Town!
He has made thirty one Wands appearances, and scored three goals.
Crossley Lema comes in from National League South side Tonbridge Angels. He joined Angels in the summer after a season with Welling United. Prior to his move to Welling the full back was Carshalton Athletic's Player of the Year.
Crossley moved to Colton Avenue in the summer of 2022, made forty six appearances during the 22-23 campaign, and weighed in with six goals- indeed, his side were victorious on five of the six occasions he scored. He was previously with Margate, playing thirty six times and scoring three goals- again, all in victories- one of the few bright sparks in Gate's 21-22 campaign. Prior to his time with Margate he played for Leatherhead, where he spent the majority of four seasons- albeit two of them didn't end. The first of those, 2018-19, he was on loan from Sutton United.
He came through the Academy at Gander Green Lane before graduating to the first team squad. He also had a period on loan at- these days sadly defunct- Walton Casuals.
