Agyakwa and Fares debut for the Jammers
Marlon Agyakwa and Yassin Fares start for Maldon and Tiptree
Maldon and Tiptree were victims of a giant killing on Saturday, but looking on the bright side they did have two debutants, Marlon Agyakwa and Yassin Fares making their first Jammers starts.
Marlon debuted for Bowers and Pitsea against the Jammers back in March, playing five times before the season came to an end. he was previously with Heybridge Swifts, but only for a month- a period which saw him make two appearances, on loan from Brentwood Town.
He joined Brentwood in March 2024- although he had actually spent time with the Blues previously, a four game loan spell from Aveley during the 22-23 season which saw him score three goals. He played only once for Brentwood last season, as he has spent most of the campaign with Hullbridge Sports. He made forty seven appearances during 24-25, helping the Blues to take the Pitching In Isthmian North title, and fourteen times as he helped them to the Play Off Final in 23-24.
The winger moved to Brentwood from Brightlingsea Regent, where he had played twenty five times, with six goals.
Marlon came through the ranks at Southend United, and after leaving the Shrimpers stayed in the area with Canvey Island. He had two spells with the Gulls, the latest in 2018-19- when he played forty six times- after initially playing for three seasons. He has also spent time with Oxford City and Didcot Town, and played for Tilbury, making thirty four appearances and scoring seven times. His time at Aveley began at the start of the 22-23 season, but was hampered by injury.
After that Brentwood loan he moved on to Stowmarket Town, where he managed eleven appearances, scoring once, before moving on to Grays Athletic, where he played fourteen times as the season came to a close.
Winger Yassin Fares comes in from SCEFL Premier side Rusthall, where he has played nine times this season and scored twice. He also played eighteen times and scored four goals last season, after starting the 25-26 campaign on our manor with VCD Athletic- to whom he moved from…Rusthall.
