All roads lead to Parkside- it's Cup Final Wednesday

Holders Chatham Town take on title-chasing Billericay Town as the Velocity Cup reaches its climax
Parkside, home of Aveley FC and Hashtag United, is also the home of this season’s Velocity Cup Final, and it will kick off at 7.45 PM TONIGHT.
The match will be contested by two sides who know what it feels like to lift this particular trophy, Chatham Town- the current holders- and Billericay Town, who won in 2016-17 and again the following season. The Chats are in fine form, nine ten games undefeated and looking for a fifth consecutive win; whilst the Blues have stuttered a little of late, losing three of their last five and winning the other two.
Their two-one win over Hashtag United at Parkside last season was the Chats only appearance in our knockout showpiece. The Blues, who defeated Tonbridge Angels and Met Police to earn their triumphs, also have a Final defeat to remember, against Fisher Athletic back in 2005-06- a match which was played at Grays Athletic’s former home, the New Recreation Ground.
Billericay have defeated Binfield, Sheppey United, Cheshunt and Basildon United to reach this stage. The Chats have overcome the challenge of Hendon, Hashtag United, Burgess Hill Town and Ascot United.
Both Pitching In Isthmian Premier matches between the sides this season ended in one-one draws, whilst they also met in the Velocity Cup last season, Chatham winning three-two on penalties after a one-one draw at the Quarter Final stage.
To add a further twist, the Blues and Chats women's sides met in our Women's Cup Final last week, which resulted in a Chatham triumph. There will be a belief in the red corner of Parkside this evening that the Bauvill will be able to display two trophies when the Chats return home on Saturday.
Tickets are priced at ten pounds for a full paying adult, and five pounds for a concession (under 18 or over 65), and can be purchased HERE. They can also be purchased on the gate, but by CARD ONLY- so we urge booking in advance to avoid lengthy queues, as we expect a large crowd!
