An action-packed Tuesday

We've matches in all four Divisions this evening- and a Cup Quarter Final. Here's our preview
Pitching In Isthmian Premier has St Albans City hosting Hashtag United, the Saints looking to bounce back from the five goals they conceded against Whitehawk at the weekend, their visitors trying to put some points between themselves and the bottom four- they only have goal difference keeping them out of the drop zone at present. The Tags are four unbeaten- three draws- whilst their hosts had won two in a row before the Hawks came to call.
We also have a Velocity Cup Quarter Final to look forward to, with Premier Wingate and Finchley the hosts for South Central Kingstonian. Neither side are in the best of form; the hosts are nine without a win in the League, whilst the travelling K’s somehow find themselves in the South Central bottom four, six without a win and with only one win from ten. The visitors, however, did defeat Premier opposition in the shape of Dulwich Hamlet in the last round, so shouldn’t be taken lightly.
In Pitching In Isthmian North the top four are in action.
Leaders Felixstowe and Walton United, with a four point lead at the top, host fourth place Gorleston in our match of the day, the Seasiders looking for a seventh consecutive win, the Greens for a third.
Second place Maldon and Tiptree start the evening four points behind the leaders, but the Jammers have three games in hand as they travel to Newmarket Town. They are also looking for a seventh win in a row, whilst the hosting Jockeys have slipped to fourteenth after seven defeats from their last eight.
Third place Waltham Abbey’s defeat against Stanway Rovers at the weekend was their first in thirteen matches, and they will be determined to return to wining form as they travel to Mildenhall Town. Hall looked certain to return to winning ways at Lowestoft on Saturday only for the fog to get in the way, so will hope to pull off a surprise.
Cambridge City, in ninth, have only one defeat from ten- but they have seen their progress up the table slowed by draws in four of their last six. City are heading to East London to take on Walthamstow, the hosts in sixteenth but looking rather upwardly mobile after winning four of their last six.
Fourth bottom Takeley are at home to the side directly above them, Lowestoft Town- although there are six points between the sides. Takeley have only two wins from ten, but have drawn their last two and will be hopeful that they can turn one point into three this time around; particularly as their visitors are seven without a win and looked to be on the way to another defeat when fog saw their match on Saturday abandoned half way through.
In fifth place in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, Hayes and Yeading United travel to face Harrow Borough, the hosts in twelfth. Hayes have taken thirteen points from their last five matches and are four points clear of sixth place Portchester- but six behind fourth place Westfield; whilst Borough are having rather a hit and miss season and are certainly giving their fans some variety. Two wins, two draws and two defeats from their previous six perhaps sums up their campaign, but they are fairly solid on their own patch and United’s travails tend to come on the road.
We’ve a pitch inspection at 2PM at Fareham Town, our bottom side scheduled to host ninth place Raynes Park Vale. Fareham are seventeen points from safety, although they have played fewer- in some cases, far fewer- matches than all but one of their rivals at the wrong end. Vale are nine points away from the play off spot which they’d very much like to be occupying, but are three unbeaten.
Erith Town sit fourth from bottom of Pitching In Isthmian South East, but anything other than defeat as they host VCD Athletic tonight will see them climb out of the drop zone. The Dockers delivered a superb win at promotion chasing Faversham on Saturday, and will hope to retain that form as they take on the side directly behind them. Vickers are three points from safety so are also in dire need of a win, but they’d have to deliver victory by a rugby score to get out of the bottom four this evening. They’ve taken one point from the last eighteen available to them.
Hastings United welcome Crowborough Athletic to Pilot Field, sixteenth versus seventeenth, two points between them. United have seen their last eight matches bring five wins and three defeats, so they haven’t yet found consistency but will be happy with their recent improvement. The Crows have only two defeats from their last seven, and have already defeated these opponents in both League and Cup this season. We suspect the home faithful will be rather keen on some revenge.
