Ex-Football League defender joins Aveley after successful trial
Aveley have completed the signing of centre-back Ellis Yates, who joins from League One side Stevenage.
The 19-year-old has joined the Millers after impressing during a pre-season showcase event. He went on to appear in the club's early friendlies against both Folkestone Invicta and Leiston.
Having progressed through the Stevenage academy, Bates was part of their Under 18s squad for the 2024/25 season before making the step into the senior team, making his EFL debut away at Bolton Wanderers in May last year.
The youngster adds significant quality to the backline of Aveley, who missed out on promotion to the National League South last season after a play-off semi final defeat to Brentwood Town.
