FA Cup round-up | Enfield upset Billericay as Brentwood produce stunning comeback

Two goals on the stroke of half-time meant the contest between Billericay and Enfield at New Lodge was one apiece at the break.

However, a second from the in-form Thomas Avgoustidis and a brilliant strike from Nana Kyei were enough to seal a 3-1 victory for the Towners.

Meanwhile, a dramatic turn of events in the days leading up to kick-off led to Aveley manager Brett Munyard being confirmed as the new manager of Saturday's opponents, Brentwood.

The game itself at Parkside was equally as dramatic as the pre-match headlines.

The Millers took the lead through Toby Aromolaran’s early goal, before Aromolaran turned provider to assist Chris Harris for the hosts’ second and double the advantage against their Isthmian Premier rivals.

But after Luke Read headed home to halve the deficit and Malachi Linton levelled just after the break, Jesse Olukolu completed the fightback when his strike nestled into the far corner from the edge of the area in the 76th minute.

A fiery contest also saw Gio Palmer shown a straight red card for a foul on Olukolu as he raced through on goal in stoppage time.

But it ended 3-2, in a game which new boss Munyard watched from the stands as interim manager Alex Akrofi led the Blues into third round qualifying. 

In another battle of two Isthmian Premier clubs at Champion Hill, Dulwich Hamlet were resounding 4-1 winners against Welling United. 

A much-anticipated tie between two evenly matched teams was rather more one-sided as Gaspar Mico’s opener and Sol Baugh’s brace gave Hamlet a 3-0 lead. 

Jamie Reynold’s strike reduced the deficit for Welling 13 minutes from time, but Danny Mills slotted home late on to cap off a sparkling display in front of a satisfied home crowd.

The same can be said for high-flying Dartford, who clinched their fourth victory in a row with a 4-2 triumph over Isthmian South Central side Hayes & Yeading United. 

Ben Greenhalgh drove home to open the scoring inside 12 minutes, but Amari Fashanu’s finish and a long-range screamer from Kurtis Cumberbatch meant the visitors had a surprising lead on the hour mark.

However, Max Fiddes levelled it up at the back post and Jordan Higgs produced a moment of quality to restore the Darts’ advantage. The midfielder cushioned the ball down with his chest before smashing a thunderous strike into the top corner. 

It was then up to Fiddes to add his second moments later, nodding it home from a corner to round off the scoring at Princes Park Stadium.

Elsewhere, there were comfortable 3-0 victories for both Eastbourne Borough and St Albans City, defeating Windsor & Eton and Witham Town respectively, while Leatherhead emerged victorious in a fiery derby against Kingstonian.

Bobby Price scored the only goal of the day for the Tanners at Robert Parker Stadium, smashing home from inside the box minutes into the second half. 

Hosts Kingstonian made matters worse as Rocky Williams was dismissed for punching Charlie Kennett, before both sides lost a man apiece following an incident in stoppage time. 

Over in Cambridgeshire, hosts Cambridge City brushed aside fellow Isthmian North side Buckhurst Hill. 

The tie was almost dead and buried at the conclusion of the first half as Fletcher Toll’s double and another from Jaiden Babalola saw the Lilywhites surge into a 3-0 lead at half-time. 

The Stags replied through Suley Zuhdu’s finish just before the hour, but Mark Williams’ side were unable to stage a remarkable comeback. 

Things may have been different if the visits had managed to convert a penalty that was saved 20 minutes from time, but the conclusion of the game saw them exit the FA Cup having reached this stage of the competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Hendon suffered a rather disappointing loss in Hertfordshire. 

The visitors came out on the wrong side of a 4-1 scoreline against hosts Berkhamsted, who play their football at Step 3. Adam Fisher’s side have now lost two games in 2026/27 but remain unbeaten in the Isthmian South Central, where they sit fourth.

Huge credit must also go to Chatham Town, who edged past National League South opposition in Slough Town.

Jack Lyons scored the only goal of the afternoon for the Chats, firing home with his left foot from the edge of the box. It was the perfect response from a Chatham side that have been inconsistent so far this season, despite claiming a number of great wins. Kevin Hake’s team are 11th in the Isthmian Premier, with four wins and four losses to show from their eight games.

 The final game of the weekend involved Isthmian South Central side Southall, who earned a credible 2-2 draw at home to Dorking Wanderers of the National League South.

Trailing 2-1 at half-time, substitute Tyler Hayles came off the bench to net an equaliser for Max Howell’s side six minutes from time.
