Former Chelsea starlet Colkett new in Croydon

AFC Croydon Athletic have announced the signing of midfielder Charlie Colkett, who moves south after playing National League football for Gateshead.

Charlie has lots of experience at a level much higher than our own. He came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and then Chelsea, where he won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. Whilst at Stamford Bridge had loan spells at Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town, Vitesse Arnhem and Shrewsbury Town. 

After leaving Chelsea he moved to Sweden and found success with Ostersund, before returning to the UK three years later with Cheltenham Town. Spells at Crewe Alexandra and Notts County followed before his move to the North East last year. 

He played for England at Under 16, Under 17, Under 18, Under 19 and Under 20 level.
