Former Millers are new at the...Millers
Ibby Akanbi and Luke Holness make Cray Valley PM moves
Cray Valley PM's latest arrivals already know what it feels like to be Millers, as Ibby Akanbi and Luke Holness both played for Aveley last season!
Forward Ibby has lots of experience, much of it at a significantly higher level. He started last season with Aveley in National League South, and also played at that level for Chelmsford City, St Albans City, Dartford, Tonbridge Angels, Worthing and Dulwich Hamlet. He moved to AFC Croydon Athletic just after the New year and scored eight goals in his twenty two matches.
Prior to his time with Hamlet he was playing higher still, with Dagenham and Redbridge, and before he became a Dagger he turned out for Maidstone United, Farnborough, Kettering Town, and, nearer home, Whitehawk, Three Bridges and Whyteleafe. He played youth football with Crystal Palace.
Luke was also with Aveley last season, but he also spent a little time in our North Division with Concord Rangers, playing twice.
Luke started out as a Fulham and Crystal Palace youth before heading our way with Walton Casuals. He then moved on to Maldon and Tiptree, and also turned out for Sevenoaks Town and Tooting & Mitcham United.
2019-20 saw him play for Northwood and Bracknell Town, and he was then picked up by National League South side Braintree Town, going on to great success at a higher level, also playing for Tonbridge Angels and Hemel Hempstead Town.
He was back with us during the 23-24 season, joining Folkestone Invicta, playing eleven times and scoring four goals before heading back to the National League with Welling United.
