Second place Dulwich Hamlet picked up our Golden Gloves Award a few days prior to this match, and had conceded only one league goal all season prior to hosting Welling United. The visitors were then certainly second favourites- and the challenge became larger still when Lekan Majoyegbe was dismissed on twenty minutes. They were immediately a goal behind, Anthony Cook converting the spot kick, and eleven minutes later the hosts added a second, Amadou Kassarate doubling their advantage. The ten men got a goal back just after the hour, Ruben Shakpoke giving the travelling fans hope, but that hope was extinguished when Cook added a third for the hosts three minutes from time.
