Steve Butterworth becomes the new manager of Maldon and Tiptree

Maldon and Tiptree have announced the appointment of Steve Butterworth as their new boss. Steve, as you may know, was Keith Rowland's number two at Brentwood Town until a few weeks ago.

Steve was formerly the manager of East Thurrock United, Great Wakering Rovers and Romford. As a player, he turned out for the likes of Newport County, Hornchurch, Carshalton Athletic, Harrow Borough, Dartford, Kingstonian, Aveley, Chelmsford City and Brentwood Town, as well as for Rovers.

The Jammers explained:

‘We’re delighted to welcome Steve to Maldon & Tiptree. He brings experience, ambition and a real understanding of non-league football. “We’re building something for the long term here, and we believe Steve is the right man to lead the team into this next chapter. We’re excited to see what he can achieve with the squad and he’ll have our full backing.’

More here.

Steve's tenure will begin with a trip to Burgess Hill Town on Saturday.
