Kedwell steps down at Athletic
AFC Croydon Athletic announce the departure of manager Danny Kedwell
Pitching In Isthmian South East side AFC Croydon Athletic have confirmed that manager Danny Kedwell has departed the club.
In a statement, they explained:
'Danny Kedwell will step down from his role as first team manager with immediate effect.
Danny has been leading the team since February 2024, and in that time he has given the club is knowledge, his energy and his passion. Every manager leaves their mark on a club, and Danny's is in the players he has backed, the standards he has set, and the spirit he has brought to the Mayfield Stadium.'
It continued:
‘We would like to thank Danny for all his hard work, grit and determination to take us to the next level. With his personal circumstances changing this is the right time to move on. The club wishes him all the best with his next chapter.’

We believe the club have made a slight error in their statement, as Danny actually became manager in February 2025, following his departure from Ashford United. He steered them to the Play Off Final last season, and departs with them in ninth place.
Danny took over at Ashford United in May 2024, departing in January 2025. Previously, as Assistant Manager and player at Chatham, he helped the club to win the South East title in 22-23 and to the Premier Play Off Final in May. He also made sixteen appearances during the 23-24 season, scoring four goals, and eleven as his side earned promotion to the top flight the season before. His previous spell as an Isthmian Manager came at Cray Wanderers during the early months of the 21-22 campaign.
As a player, Danny turned out for the likes of Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon, as well as having four successful years at Ebbsfleet United.
