Rowan Liburd makes a Cray Valley move

Cray Valley PM had forward Rowan Liburd in their squad on Saturday, after he made a move from Pitching In Isthmian Premier rivals Aveley.

Rowan joined Aveley in the summer, and has played eight times. He made the move to Parkside from Chatham Town, where he made thirty nine appearances last season and scored seven goals. That followed eighteen appearances and four goals as he moved to Chatham from Sevenoaks Town midway through the 23-24 campaign.

Rowan joined Oaks in the summer of 2023, moving from Ramsgate, and his twenty appearances brought five goals. As a Ram, he managed nine goals- including two hat tricks- in nineteen appearances during the second half of the 22-23 season. He joined the Rams after playing a massive part - he's six foot four, so massive in more ways than one- in Cheshunt's unexpected but undoubtedly deserved promotion during the 21-22 campaign. His goals included one in the Premier Semi-Final win over Bishop's Stortford, and he also got a brace at Champions Worthing and three in a thrashing of Corinthian-Casuals.

Rowan first came to our attention when scoring goals for fun at Billlericay Town nine years ago. That got him a move to Reading, and he went on to also play professionally at Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage and Leyton Orient. In the National League he played for Guiseley, home of the world's first Harry Ramsden's (we don't know whether he ever sampled their wares) before moving on to Hereford, Dartford and Welling United.
