Maldon and their management team part company
Hawkes out and Udoji in- the latter temporarily- as the Jammers ring the changes
Maldon and Tiptree followed their defeat at home to Carshalton Athletic on Saturday- a match which saw them go from two-nil up to three-two down- by announcing the departure of their management team. The Jammers released the following statement:
Boss Mark Hawkes only joined the club at the end of June, and given the turmoil he inherited and has worked through the former Chelmsford City and Heybridge Swifts boss has done well to steer his side to sixteenth place in out top flight. The new owners at the club clearly want something different, however, and have appointed Ugo Udoji to occupy the hotseat whilst they decide on a replacement.
You'll remember Ugo from a successful career as a player with Farnborough, Tonbridge Angels, St Albans City, Bromley, Salisbury City, Harlow Town and Cheshunt, and he was also Assistant Manager for the Ambers and more recently at Potters Bar Town.
