Mbogba and Lyons reinforce the Chats

Malachi Mbogba and Jack Lyons are the latest Chatham Town arrivals

Chatham Town announced a double signing prior to their victory at Whitehawk on Saturday, with Malachi Mbogba and Jack Lyons coming in- and Lyons made his debut from the bench in the closing stages.

Jack is a player you might know from his time with Crowborough Athletic or Hastings United.

Jack joined the Crows in December from Hastings. He was an enormous success, scoring eleven goals in twenty two matches. The winger had already played fourteen times with two goals for United, after stepping up from Rusthall in the SCEFL.

Jack played briefly for Uckfield Town,  then signed for Rusthall and made a Step Five debut aged only sixteen, and quickly made his mark. Indeed, shortly after signing for the club he scored at FA Youth Cup goal in a match against… Chatham Town, that was timed at four seconds! He managed thirty five first team appearances and six goals during that first season, and managed a dozen goals from twenty eight appearances during 24-25 season.

Malachi comes in from Maidstone United. The midfielder came through the ranks at Barnsley, where he played for the Under 18 side until the summer of 2025, when he moved to Kent with the Stones. Herne Bay supporters might remember him scoring against their side in the Kent Cup last season.
